The design inspiration for the Zhuyeqing Green Tea flagship store came from the natural symbols of cloud and mountain, which are often depicted in traditional Chinese ink paintings. These symbols were used to describe the natural ecological origin of Zhuyeqing green tea. Li Xiang has ingeniously incorporated these motifs into the design of the store, creating an immersive retail experience that transports customers into the serene landscapes where the tea is sourced.
One of the unique features of the design is the mountain-shaped counters that extend naturally in the vertical and horizontal space. These counters are not only functional for displaying goods but also contribute to the aesthetic composition of the space. The counters are designed to look as if they are shrouded in mist, creating a sense of tranquility and peace that is reminiscent of the natural landscapes where Zhuyeqing green tea is grown.
The realization of this design was made possible through the use of stainless steel materials and the careful hiding of power cords and plugs within the mountain-shaped counters. This has resulted in a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and functional. The use of stainless steel adds a modern touch to the traditional motifs, creating a unique blend of old and new that is characteristic of Li Xiang's design style.
Despite the challenges of applying decorative film to the surface of the heteromorphic furniture and creating a sensory experience in a limited space, Li Xiang was able to overcome these obstacles through careful planning and innovative design solutions. The result is a retail space that is not only functional but also provides a unique and immersive experience for customers.
In conclusion, Li Xiang's design for the Zhuyeqing Green Tea flagship store is a testament to her ability to blend traditional motifs with modern design elements to create a unique and immersive retail experience. This design has not only earned her the prestigious Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020 but also set a new standard for retail design in the tea industry.
